My vampire coven doesn't care if I live or die, but they will see me dead before they let these bear shifters near me.
When my coven leader tried to ruin me, I fled. Unfortunately, running away led to me almost dying on this godforsaken mountain. It's a miracle that anyone found me in time to save me. It's even more of a miracle that my savior?a quiet, gentle giant of a man?is willing to feed a starving vampire with his own blood to keep me alive.
Maybe this will be okay, and maybe my luck will hold out, and as soon as I get my strength back, I'll be on my way, trying to stay a step ahead of any vampires coming after me.
Running again will be hard, but I can't ask my savior to give any more than he's already given, and settling in the mountains with a beautiful stranger is a pipe dream.
Especially when that stranger turns out to be a bear shifter, and when he's one of three bear shifter men who live on this mountain.
While Bernard is all sweet gentleness, I can feel Barrett's anger from miles away. Then there's Bryce, who looks at me with a type of hunger that I don't quite understand. Part of me seems to understand, though, because my body is overtaken by a kind of hunger I've never experienced before.
I don't know what's happening to me. All I know is that one man doesn't seem to be solving the aching emptiness inside of me.
