As a "failure to thrive" infant, I started my travels at the age of 3 months to receive nurturing support from my Granny and Aunt Jane, who lived 300 miles away. Since then, I've explored 34 countries, ranging from Alaska to Australia. Sadly, my mother died at the age of 49 due to extreme fasting, desiring to serve God as a "prayer warrior." Since then, I have dedicated my life to sharing the signs to recognize healthy and unhealthy expressions of spirituality. I integrate my Bachelor's degrees in Communication and Religious Studies, a Master's degree in Pastoral Ministry, as well as a Certificate in Recognizing and Healing the Wounds of Spiritual Abuse and Trauma, and training as a Life and Spiritual Coach, to support your pilgrimage journey.I often teach and write about what I need to learn. For 24 years, I served as a Parent and Life Skills Instructor for Head Start families at Spokane Community College. I met early childhood educator and author Jean Illsley Clarke while writing my book, Why Don't You Understand? Jean encouraged me that "it's never too late to grow up again," and explained why developmental tasks often recur every 13 years throughout life. Learning them sooner creates less "baggage" in the future. In 52 Global Reflections: A Pilgrim's Travel Memoir, I review the four main "seasons" and developmental stages in life as opportunities to address unresolved issues, along with qualities to support your exploration. Specifically, I illustrate the quality of "Mothering" when I experienced profound healing during my visit to Mother Mary's home in Ephesus, Türkiye.Being married to my husband, Mark, since 1984, and raising our children, Katie and Daniel, in Liberty Lake, Washington, have been the most significant highlights, as well as teachers, in my life. I am grateful that we enjoy traveling both as a couple and as a family. Our favorite activities include kayaking and snorkeling. Due to multiple health challenges, including colon and breast cancers, neuropathy, and a recent brain surgery, my trekking poles have become stability sticks. I'm thankful I traveled as much as I did earlier in my life.
