His wanderlust took him to the Catskill Mountains in 1918, where he meticulously documented his adventures, weaving vivid descriptions of Overlook Mountain, Stony Clove, Phoenicia, Hunter, Slide Mountain, Kaaterskill Falls, the Ashokan Reservoir, and Mount Utsayantha.
