Bruce P. Gleason is Professor of Music History and Music Education at the University of St. Thomas. He is a U.S. Army veteran musician and the author of Sound the Trumpet, Beat the Drums: Horse-Mounted Bands of the U.S. Army, 1820-1940 and Cold War Cadence: A Military Musician's Berlin Memoir, 1988-1991. He has published more than 50 articles and other scholarly contributions.
