My friends and family call me Bruce, or BJ. I am an author, an artist, a teacher and student of the Bible. I am a lover of literature, music, sailing, and the outdoors. I grew up in Miami, Florida where I spent my summers boating and fishing on Biscayne Bay. Before graduating from Miami Palmetto Highschool, my family moved to Florida's Space Coast where we joined the "race to the moon" in 1964. Following my graduation from Satellite High School, I joined the Navy, went to tech school in Memphis Tennessee, and served in Viet Nam and other West Pacific destinations. Both then and since, I have traveled extensively, living briefly in California, the Philippines, Japan, Guam, Ireland, and Germany. I have since returned to the Space Coast of Florida where I live with my wife and family. I studied Computer Science at Brevard Community College, Quality Systems and Demand-Pull Manufacturing Techniques at the University of Florida, and Biblical Studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I'm retired now, and writing full time, working and worshiping with friends, all with a thankful heart. I write a wide variety of fiction, but my focus is on Biblical and historical works. I chose the literary art form because the stories in my head demand that level of detail. I want to write about life, death, God, intellect, the supernatural, the meaning of life, the truth, and the lies we tell ourselves and others. I want to write about the things that keep us up at night, our insecurities, our fears, our hopes our dreams, and our shining moments. I like dynamic plots ...I like characters with depth, who speak with passion. I want my work to be, first of all, entertaining, then informative. I want my readers to escape into other worlds and other lives. I want them to come away with something of value.
