Alice Astafan is a highly decorated, award-winning Major General, USAF, retired. At the time she pinned on her two stars, she was the highest-ranking female officer in the entire United States military. Her promotion led to the lifting of the glass ceiling, opening the way for military women coming after her to move up the career ladder to serve their nation. After her 38 years military career, she served as an award-winning Chief Executive Officer. In 2023 she wrote her memoir: Lady Leader Leaves Lasting Legacy. But her proudest and most rewarding role, in which she served along with her husband Peter, was rearing their son, Patrick, the subject of this book. Despite the adversities he experienced, he has left a legacy that will live on for generations.
