The book Winter Ship was scheduled to be published in Moscow in the late 1970s but was removed from the publishing plan after David Shrayer-Petrov was expelled from the Union of Writers of the USSR for his intention to emigrate. Half a century later, the uncensored version of the book is being released under the editorship of the writer's son, Professor Maxim D.
