Every day we can choose to focus on the right things, keeping our eyes on Jesus. As we read the Bible, we need to meditate on it, memorise it, and apply it to our lives. God's Word is powerful in our lives, to help us see from God's perspective. Without this, everything can become like a religious ritual, just going through the motions. We can easily get distracted without vision, and make wrong choices. God's invitation is to intimacy in His presence. Without intimacy, how would we see our lives from His perspective?
