LaVerne McIntyre spent four years in World War II in the trenches of Normandy, Africa, and Europe. When he returned home, he was eager to leave the brutality of war behind and start a family. After marrying Rae Wyland, he became the proud father of three boys. Tragedy struck when Rae died from cancer, leaving LaVerne penniless with three sons under the age of five. He blamed God for taking his wife, yet remained committed to raising his children.
In the end, perseverance and love prevailed. Dennis later honored his wife's legacy of love as part of that legacy.
