Maj. Gen. Mick Ryan is a retired Australian Army officer. A graduate of The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and the USMC Command and Staff College and School of Advanced Warfare, he is a passionate advocate of professional education and lifelong learning. He has commanded at platoon, squadron, regiment, task force, and brigade levels. Ryan is a strategic advisor to several defense-related businesses in Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom, the senior military fellow at the Lowy Institute in Sydney, Australia, and a nonresident adjunct Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
