Best-selling author Elaine Kagan was born in St. Louis, raised in Kansas City, and lived in New York City on her way to Los Angeles, where she became an actress before pursuing a career as a writer. Her five previous novels: The Girls, Blue Heaven, Somebody's Baby, No Goodbyes, and Losing Mr. North have been translated into eighteen languages. As an actress, she has appeared in such classic films as Coming to America and Goodfellas, as well as many TV shows, from NYPD Blue to the recent High Potential. She lives in Los Angeles.
