Michael Zabel is from the Chicago Suburbs and is a life-long Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He graduated from Syracuse University with a B.A. in Psychology. While at Syracuse, he was discipled through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU). It was during his freshman year that Michael sensed God calling him to ministry. After two years at the International School of Theology in San Bernardino, California (a seminary through the ministry of CRU at that time), Michael transferred to North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago and began serving in his first church. Over 40+ years of ministry, he has served in nine Evangelical Covenant churches located on both coasts, the center of the U.S., in Canada and twice in rural Alaska. In retirement, Michael has served as an interim pastor and has begun putting material from his years of ministry into book form. His hope is to share what he has learned from his experiences in life and ministry and bring value to others/those who read his books. Michael and his wife Emilie, who have been married almost 50 years, live near one of their four adult children and his family in the Seattle area and very much enjoy being near five of their eleven grandchildren.
