Adeniyi Asiyanbi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Culture and Global Studies, University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. His work applies insights from critical geography and interdisciplinary political ecology to the intersection of climate change, forests and development, with a focus on West Africa and Western Canada.

Melis Ece is an environmental anthropologist, based at the University of Sussex, in the UK. Her fieldwork in West and East Africa explores historical justice struggles around governance, recognition and heritage through forests. She taught in Anthropology, African Studies, Environment and Development Studies in the UK, USA, Scandinavia and Turkey.

James Fairhead is Emeritus Professor of Anthropology at the University of Sussex, UK. His research examining West African forest and agro-ecological knowledge and practices and how these has been (mis)understood in colonial and postcolonial science and policy has been published in books such as Misreading the African Landscape (2012) and Reframing Deforestation (Routledge, 1998).
