Miesje is an artist, designer and maker living on the south coast of England. Her love of making started when her mum and grandmother taught her how to knit as a youngster; that first holey, hand knitted scarf ignited a life-long passion for design and hand stitching. Although originally trained as a nurse, her love of textiles eventually won and she now spends her time creating patterns and designs, making textile artworks, teaching and experimenting with any new medium she can get her hands on.

Her work is often inspired by mid-century and modernist design, an aesthetic that she tries to bring to her needlepoint by using a bold, bright colour palette and clean geometric patterns.
