Michelle Devereaux is a sessional lecturer in Film and Television Studies at the University of Warwick, where she completed a Leverhulme Trust postdoctoral fellowship on Cavellian scepticism, trauma, and gender in contemporary cinema. Her 2019 monograph on Romanticism and film, The Stillness of Solitude, was published by Edinburgh University Press, and her writing on Cavell has appeared in Film Quarterly, Screen, and Television with Stanley Cavell in Mind. Dominic Lash is the author of The Cinema of Disorientation (2020); Robert Pippin and Film (2022); BFI Film Classics: Cure (2024); and Haunting the World: Essays on Film after Perkins and Cavell (2025). He co-edited Gilles Deleuze and Film Criticism (2023) and co-authored Night Moves: Twenty-Four Letters (2026). His work has appeared in Screen and Movie, and he has taught film studies at the University of Bristol, the University of Oxford, and Anglia Ruskin University.
