Mark had one simple goal.
Go to John Payne's rodeo, watch the One Arm Bandit do things most people would not attempt with twice the number of arms, and get home with the same number of cats he started with.
The cats had other plans.
By the time Mark realizes Princess, Spicy, Eliza, Henry, Spooky, and the rest of the Whisker Hostel have turned a quiet trip to the rodeo into a full scale operation, it is already too late. Princess has brought her beloved crunchy Mylar ball. A kennel full of dogs has discovered freedom. Henry has encountered a bison and reached the limits of his vocabulary. Mandy's grill becomes a tactical objective. Cats end up riding dogs through the arena. And one unfortunate stallion discovers exactly why nobody should ever let Princess become curious about anything round.
Meanwhile, John Payne watches the chaos unfold with the calm of a man who has spent a lifetime around horses, zebras, bison, and people who think they know better than animals.
By the end of the day, the rodeo has acquired an unofficial cat act, a proposed contract, several deeply confused cowboys, and a story half the town is already making bigger with every retelling.
The Whisker Hostel: The Rodeo Nobody Ordered is a fast, ridiculous illustrated comedy about cats, dogs, cowboys, rodeo mayhem, and one human who should have known better than to tell the cats he was going somewhere interesting.
