Zusammenfassung

A Practical Guide to Brain Injury and Complex Case Management is an informative and holistic practice guide for Case Managers working with people following an acquired brain injury (ABI) and other complex conditions. Drawing together a stellar team of experts, this book is a go-to source of information and guidance on both the foundations and richness of case management practice, and the ability of this discipline to make real impact on individual lives.

Edited by four highly experienced and passionate Case Managers, this book explores both the depth and breadth of complex case management practice. It equips professionals in the field with the knowledge to support individuals living with life-changing injury and illness, while providing guidance on making appropriate referral decisions at critical points in a client's recovery journey. Rich in real-world insight, the book encourages practitioners to look beyond presenting difficulties, remain curious about the factors influencing recovery, and place compassion, collaboration, and person-centred practice at the heart of their work.

Whether you are an experienced case manager, new to the profession, or working in a related field, this is an invaluable reference source and practical companion. The contributors share a collective vision - to positively influence the experiences of those who may one day face life-changing injury or illness.

Jackie Dean is an experienced neuro-occupational therapist and care expert. She has worked as a case manager since 1994 and founder of N-Able Services Ltd in the NW of England in 2002. She has published academic papers and book chapters

Vicki Gilman is an experienced case manager, neuro physiotherapist and neurorehabilitation specialist with a focus toward supporting the development of individuals, teams and services across sectors to improve rehabilitation pathways, options and outcomes for people with long-term and complex conditions

Dr Mark Holloway is a Social Work-qualified independent brain injury Case Manager and expert witness. He has worked with people affected by acquired brain injury since 1991 and has published academic papers, book chapters, and a co-authored a book on families' experiences of brain injury.

Anita Pascoe has worked with survivors of acquired brain injury since 2000 and as a Case Manager since 2004. She is an experienced occupational therapist and expert witness and is the clinical lead for a large complex case management service.
